What infrastructure monitoring involves
Infrastructure usually warns before it fails: storage latency rises, a power supply reports a fault, UPS batteries weaken, temperatures climb in a server room or a link starts dropping packets. Monitoring captures those signals so action happens before users notice.
We deploy and tune infrastructure monitoring with platforms such as Zabbix, PRTG, LogicMonitor, SolarWinds or Prometheus and Grafana, collecting metrics through agents, SNMP, IPMI and vendor APIs. Alert rules are designed around impact, with dependencies configured so one failed switch does not generate hundreds of downstream alerts.
Monitoring can be handed to your team with runbooks, or operated by our network operations centre around the clock. Alert thresholds are reviewed after every significant incident, so the next early warning signal is caught automatically instead of being discovered in a post-incident review.
