What backup management involves
Backups are easy to assume and hard to prove. Jobs may report success while missing new servers, retention may not meet legal requirements, backup copies may be reachable by ransomware and restores may take far longer than the business can tolerate. Backup management turns backups into a verified recovery capability.
We operate platforms such as Veeam, Commvault, Rubrik, Azure Backup and AWS Backup, following the 3-2-1-1-0 principle: three copies, two media types, one offsite, one immutable or offline, and zero errors after verification. Microsoft 365 and Google Workspace data is included, because provider retention alone is not a complete backup.
Monthly restore tests are recorded with timings, so recovery estimates are based on evidence rather than assumptions. Backup reports are written for auditors as well as engineers.

Ask a questionMicrosoft provides service resilience and retention features, but organisations remain responsible for protecting data against deletion, corruption, malicious insiders and retention gaps. Independent backup is widely recommended.
