Continuous Testing
Testing woven into the CI/CD pipeline so every code change receives fast, risk-appropriate feedback, using staged test suites, quality gates, ephemeral environments and test impact analysis.
Capability overview
What continuous testing involves
Teams that release frequently cannot wait for a separate test phase. Continuous testing runs the right tests at the right stage of the pipeline: fast unit and contract tests on every commit, broader integration tests after merge, and targeted end-to-end, performance and security checks before production deployment.
The design goal is fast, trustworthy feedback. We structure suites by speed and risk, create ephemeral test environments for pull requests where practical, use test impact analysis to run only tests affected by a change, and define quality gates that block releases only for meaningful failures. Flaky tests are tracked as defects with owners, because a pipeline that fails randomly teaches developers to ignore failures and rerun builds until they pass, which defeats the entire purpose of testing continuously.

What is included
Continuous testing elements
Staged test strategy
Tests assigned to commit, merge, nightly and pre-release stages based on execution time and risk.
Quality gates
Criteria for test pass rates, coverage changes, security findings and performance thresholds before promotion.
Ephemeral environments
Temporary environments created from infrastructure code for pull requests and destroyed after testing.
Test impact analysis
Changed code mapped to relevant tests to shorten feedback without losing important coverage.
Test observability
Pipeline dashboards showing duration, flaky tests, failure trends and bottlenecks.
How we work
How we deliver continuous testing
Pipeline assessment
Current CI/CD stages, test suites, execution times and failure patterns reviewed.
Suite restructuring
Tests reorganised by level and speed, with slow or unreliable tests addressed.
Pipeline integration
Test stages, parallel execution and gates configured in the CI/CD platform.
Environment automation
Test environments and data provisioning automated where feasible.
Feedback optimisation
Execution time, reliability and escaped defects monitored and improved continuously.

Questions about Continuous Testing
Cannot find what you need? Our team responds to technical and commercial questions within one business day.
Ask a questionDevelopers benefit most when commit-level checks complete within about ten minutes. Longer suites can run later in the pipeline or overnight.
Clear, reliable signals such as failed critical tests, new high-severity security issues or significant performance regressions. Gates based on noisy tests quickly lose trust.
They suit containerised and infrastructure-as-code applications best. Systems with licensed databases or complex third-party dependencies may use shared environments with service virtualisation instead.
Assessment and pipeline redesign are fixed price, with ongoing optimisation provided through DevOps or QA engineering support.
