Cloud Migration
Planned movement of applications, databases and file data from on-premises or another provider into the cloud, wave by wave, with tested cutovers and rollback plans for every system.
Capability overview
What cloud migration involves
Migration is where cloud plans meet real systems with undocumented dependencies, fixed maintenance windows and users who cannot tolerate surprises. Success depends on knowing what talks to what, moving related systems together and rehearsing cutovers before they happen for real.
We use dependency mapping to form migration waves, then execute with provider tooling such as AWS Application Migration Service, Azure Migrate and database migration services. Each wave has a test plan, a go or no-go checkpoint and a rollback route if validation fails.

What is included
What migration covers
Dependency mapping
Network flows and application configuration analysed to group servers that must move together and to find hidden links to legacy systems.
Server rehosting
Virtual and physical servers replicated continuously to the cloud and cut over in a short window with minimal data loss.
Database migration
Homogeneous and heterogeneous migrations, such as SQL Server to Azure SQL or Oracle to PostgreSQL, with data validation and performance testing.
File and storage migration
Large file shares and object data moved with sync tools or offline transfer devices when network capacity is limited.
How we work
How we deliver cloud migration
Readiness check
Landing zone, connectivity, identity and backup confirmed ready before the first workload moves.
Pilot wave
A few low-risk applications migrated first to prove tooling, runbooks and team coordination.
Wave execution
Groups of applications replicated, tested in isolation and cut over in agreed windows, typically at weekends.
Hypercare
Heightened monitoring and on-call support for one to two weeks after each wave to resolve issues quickly.
Decommissioning
Source servers switched off after a holding period, licences released and data centre contracts adjusted.

Ask a questionWith continuous replication, most servers cut over in a window of one to four hours. Large databases may need longer unless change data capture is used to keep the target in sync until the final switch.
Only where the benefit is clear and the risk is manageable. Many organisations rehost first to exit a data centre on time, then modernise the most valuable applications once they are running in the cloud.
A small estate of twenty to fifty servers can move in two to three months. Larger programmes run in waves over six to eighteen months.
Discovery and planning are fixed price. Execution is quoted per wave based on the number and complexity of servers and databases, so costs are known before each wave is approved.
